“My home town is the small village of Manitou Beach, in central Saskatchewan.  It is named after Manitou (Great Spirit) Lake, along which it is situated.  This is a special and mystical place, where in days of old, the Indigenous tribes of the region would travel to heal their sick.  To this day, people travel many miles, and even from overseas, to ‘take the waters.’  Manitou Lake is a salt water lake, denser than the Dead Sea, and is very buoyant.  As a child, I spent much of my time in the water, and playing along the shoreline.  You could say that Manitou’s healing water runs through my veins”.

Noreen Merrick’s career in the natural health and beauty industry began in 1977. She trained as a cosmetologist, then a few years later as an aesthetician. She went on to become a medical aesthetician. In the late 1980’s, Noreen began what would become a decades long quest for wellness through natural therapies. Her professional career history includes certification in fitness and nutrition, reiki, credit courses in Chinese medicine and philosophy, regression hypnotherapy, and certification as a reflexology instructor with the Reflexology Association of Canada.  In 1997, Noreen was an invited guest speaker at the International Conference of Reflexologists held in London, England. The topic of her presentation was about the importance and benefits of natural health modalities for persons with special needs, based upon her experiences with her sons and clients. For six years, Noreen was a contributing author of Spa Canada Magazine and the Canadian Medical Spa Journal.

During the 1990’s, Noreen studied with and became certified by Dr. Russell Osborn N.D. D.C. (Canada) in Aquarian-Age Healing. She continued on this path with Dr. W LaMar Rosquist N.D. D.C.  (U.S.A.), becoming certified in his methodology which he called Spinal Touch Treatment, becoming the only Canadian instructor that Dr. Rosquist authorized to teach his methodology. Noreen has, perhaps, the distinction of being the only person to be trained in person, by both of these legendary doctors in the field of postural correction. Wanting to honor each of her late and great teachers, she has combined what she has learned from them, along with her own experiences, and has trademarked the treatment BODYLIFT ARCHITECTURE®. She feels this is a more accurate and descriptive title for what the treatment achieves.

Noreen has a passion for teaching other qualified persons BODYLIFT ARCHITECTURE®. Being a Reiki Master Teacher, she also trains others in Reiki, for which there are no formal prerequisites required.
